Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are you located?
Our address is 1-2055 McPhillips Street
  • Where do I enter?
The entrance is on McPhillips and you enter through the main doors. As you enter through the main doors, you will be in a foyer area and if you turn to your right, you will see our clinic entrance.
  • Is there parking?
Yes there is parking at the back of the building. We have dedicated patient parking spots that have signs that say ‘Amelo Dental Patient Parking.’ If those spots are taken, you can park in any of the other parking spots that say ‘30 minutes.’ There is also additional street side parking on Richardson Ave.
  • What kind of payment do you accept?
We accept debit, credit, and cash.
  • What will my dental visit cost me?
Each dental visit is different and the cost will vary depending on what is needed. At Amelo Dental, we follow the Manitoba Fee guide and we will always be transparent about our services.
  • Does your office see kids and when should they start seeing the dentist?
Yes our office accepts patients of all ages including kids. Typically kids should start having checkups once their baby teeth start coming out, which is around 6 months of age. We also offer free visits for kids 3 years and under.
  • Do you take all types of insurance?
Yes we do! Provide your insurance card to us and we will handle the rest.
  • Do you take the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes we do! Like any other type of insurance, please provide your CDCP card and we will handle the rest.
  • Do you know what the coverage is for the CDCP?
CDCP covers a range of treatments. Most commonly, it will cover cleanings, dental examination, x-rays, fillings, root canals and complete dentures. For any major procedures, such as crowns and partial dentures, we will need to send a pre-determination with additional information.
  • Does the CDCP cover 100% of the dental visit?
The CDCP will cover either 40%, 60%, or 100% of the Canadian Dental Care Fee (CDCP) guide. This is lower than the Manitoba Dental Fee guide which means there will be a balance owing after your appointment similar to a traditional insurance policy.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us a call at least 48 hours before your appointment to cancel, otherwise it will be considered a short notice cancellation. Short notice cancellations will be subject to a $90 fee. We understand that personal emergencies arise that you cannot control and we ask to give us a call to let us know!
